Gullfjellet | The golden mountain
Etching, 2018
I created this mountain scene while attending a workshop with master Printmaker Michael Waight
at Peacock Visual Arts Aberdeen

It's a scene I sometimes miss, a landscape that is very much a part of me. But the motif hang in my studio,
and when I rest my eyes on it
– I'm once again in that snowy mountainous landscape
Gullbotn | The golden glen
Five-layer Reduction linocut, 2016
I created this relief print while attending
Gray's School of Art's Printmaking Short course.
It was my last project at the foundation course
there was no question whether I should continue onto
the following intermediate course – I had found a significant passion in a specific field,
that I had never felt before
Do you have a place you call ‘heaven on earth’?
I do, and this is mine – my red hytte in Norway.
Modest and traditional, this is probably the epitome
of a Norwegian ‘Hytte’, where the word luxury translates
to ‘your shoulders instantly lower themselves’.

I am in this landscape, and this landscape is within me.

The view from this place is the landscape you can see
in the etching above
